Haven't posted in awhile so here goes nothing!

Listen everyone, Lou and Shanny are smart people. They're 3 steps ahead of all of us. They already know if they're going to sign JVR and Bozak and uncle Leo.

My personal opinion is that Bozak will go to whoever offers the most money
JVR is 60/40 for staying with the leafs.
Leo is a wild card. He won't make as much money and they may sign him on a one year contract.

As everyone states on here, the leafs need a 4th line center for next year that has experience. We all know that if they are in the hunt come deadline time they will get an experienced player if need be, but I hope they'll cash in come July 1st.

Personally I'd love the leafs to sign Filppula on a 1 year deal. They'd be able to sign him for 1.5-2.5 mil since he's coming off that 5mil contract. Hasn't been proving himself to be that type of player worth 5mil. He's still a good player who can be moved up and down the lineup.

Now for defence, I think Gardiner's time has come to an end in Toronto but I could very well be wrong. I'd like the leafs to get picks and a prospect for him but he is a very valuable player for the buds. Other than mike green there's one other player I'd love to see come to Toronto.

Andre Sustr

The big 6'7" defensemen is having a hard time cracking the lineup on a tough Tampa blueline. He has a cap hit of just over 2mil and hasn't proven himself to get a raise so he'll be looking for that type of money come July 1st. Looks like his time has come to an end in Tampa.

With these 2 adds the leafs lineup still looks just as good as before but with more depth and more options. You don't know if our 3 top guys will be healthy all year or if our defense will stay healthy so you need options.
I'm going to include JVR and Leo in my lineup for next season on the basis that they are back (hopefully). If not, they'll be replaced by someone in the system or a 1-3.5mil singing. Same with Gardiner, hope he is gone but odds are slim so I'll include him. If he is traded, Dermott may have a chance to step up.

Holl is flying underneath everyone radar

So leafs go get Kapanen Dermott and Johnsson and marlies are still best team in AHL

Holl on first pairing in camp let's see how that goes.

Once JVR loses his touch around net within 3 seasons what do you have.

Sustr is a monster. He has been a fixture in Tampa’s press box this year, and will guaranteed be available this summer, and can probably be had for less than what he is currently making. That doesn’t mean Leafs should pursue him however. Mackin is right. We already have Holl. Sustr gives us nothing we don’t already have.

Filppula is an interesting choice. He’ll be cheaper than Statsny for sure, and probably even cheaper than Bozak. Lots of experience and cup pedigree. He would be a good choice for fourth line if we can get him as cheap as you suggest.

You’re right that doesn’t mean the leafs should pursue Sustr but it’s an option for sure. You know by now the leafs will pick up 1-2 players at forward and defense so they have replacements if injuries happen.

Holl may make the team out of camp but he won’t play all year with the leafs. I’d be shocked if he was still here to start the 2019-2020 season. The way the leafs are heading, you can’t have a 6th defensmen in the lineup. If you want to be a championship caliber team you need to have defensmen that can play on your top paring. Now, not always do championship teams have these caliber of defense (pens last year), but it sets you up for success. What I mean is I believe Sustr has more potential than Holl even tho he only played less than a handful of nhl games.

Babsock every team need 6 defencemen what r u talking about. Carrick is 5 10. 175 lbs Holl is 6 3 205 lbs. Holl is more defensive he can move people.

You go on but you don't say who your 6 defencemen are?

Your only in love with Sustr because he is 6 7. This guy is a minus 5 on a team that is plus 60. Holl is plus 24 on marlies and I think he is only plus defencemen or there maybe 1 or 2 more but no one is near him.

It's like this you break camp with Holl and you avaluate him as season goes along. He is earning 75k with marlies so I'm sure he happy to sign a one way deal 2 years at 1 million per.

Holl will never clear waivers so worst case he splits time with Carrick as 6th defencemen. I see a huge upside in this guy I think he is a Dermott on the right side. SUSTRE IS A STIFF.
