Toronto gains a #1 Defenseman, + 2 2nd round picks. Opens two more space under the 50 man roster. Defense is set for two years before Gardiner's extension and there is three more positions of advancement available for their prospects next year in 2018 and 2019.

Salary Cap this year is $79 MM with $10.5 MM in LTIR. Next year there is an ability to re-sign Komorov or replace him, Grundstrom or Soshkinov or scorers such as Leivo, or Johansson.

Leafs own a top 5 offence, I don't think trading for Duchene makes a lot of sense.
