I read a lot of rumors on here and all I'm seeing is jvr and bozak. 1 Jvr and a first rounder couldn't even get us hamonic who is a second pairing d man . If he was going it would of been at the draft. Possibility at the deadline this year we will see. 2 Bozak . people seem to forget how much of an impact bozak was for us . Our best face off man and scoring goals . Babs relied on him heavily . The leafs have a plan we have a tremendous amount of kids up coming for d man . Resign polak who Babcock loved, or even franson . Basically my point is trading these guys right now makes 0 sense.

This is a leafs trade and rumours website.

JVR and Bozak are two talented players on expiring contracts. Just because I propose a trade doesn't insinuate that do not like or value what he has to offer.

As valuable as you feel that Bozak is to the Leafs, Couturier is even more valuable to the Flyers. They would never trade him for the proposed package. Couturier brings so many intangibles to the Flyers. Plus they already traded Schenn so trading him wouldn't be in their best interests.

Personally I would love this trade to happen, but in reality the Flyers would never go for it. They would be giving up a pivotal center that they could keep around for another decade in place of a winger and a 2nd. No guarantees that Bozak resigns or if the Flyers would be interested in signing.

I agree Ares. This is more or less as much as I'd be willing to give up for him.

The only reason I ever think he could get traded is because of Patrick coming up. Bozak would be a solid gap filler, Bracco an eventual middle six forward and one shot at the crap shoot that is the draft.

As great as a two way centre Couturier is, he still has a lot to prove offensively. Although that's hard when you're shutting down the other teams top lines. I just picture Babcock laughing with both him and Kadri. How do you match lines?

Although I think the value going both ways is fair, Couturier is likely more valuable to philly than anyone is willing to pay for him.

I agree no need to rush trades number one we want to see liljegren dermott and Nielsen in camp. let's see how far they are away from making NHL. This isn't the year leafs win cup next year is when leafs could finally win it all. Leafs will bring in roman polak for a look. The point is the leafs can figure many things out at camp. Can hardly wait to see them ice their team Oct 4.

Agree M34. Need to stop looking at JVR as trade bait and look at him as a rental; a 30 goal scorer who you get for a playoff run. They are rare to find and not cheap to get.

All good points Rmck and you've identified probably one of the more effective young third line centres in the game. I think what you see with Couturier is what you get; a good young two-way centre that shuts down opposing teams top lines. It would be great if the Leafs could add a player such as Couturier, however Kadri also fits that need and is paid similarly. If Toronto were to trade for Couturier, it may be counter productive to their roster and force the departure of a player like how Schenn was dealt by the Flyers. Drafting Nolan eased the pain of doing this as the Flyers added a player of similar potential, who is seven years younger, and who can play in their top six for far less money. As the Lesfs continue to trend upwards, they will be faced with some hard roster decisions. This is why young cheaper contract players like Dermott, Bracco, and Kapanen need to remain in the Leaf system.

I think Ol Spider there is on the mark .
JVR seems to be sticking around at this point . You'd think that number 4 defensemen deal would have happened already as well as possibly interest in going to free agency. He should be embraced as a rental player and just more team depth for his final season .
Teams trade their 1st rds and maybe more for a player like him at the deadline. See we could choose to keep him and still have our 1st .
