Leafs trade -Nadri Kadri+ Connor Brown

Edmonton trades- Leon Draisaitl

Not even close. Draisaitl is a 21yr old center puting up 77 pts last season, and is only going to get better. The oilers will not trade him any time soon. Nvm for kadri who will most likely be on the decline soon and Brown who only had the pts he did because of who he played with.

agree about draisaitl not being traded. wouldn't make sense for Edmonton. but to say the only reason brown got points was because who he played with, your nuts. I believe brown played on all three top lines at some point. so really if he plays with any calibre nhl player he'll get points? sounds good to me. also what supports your theory that kadri will be on the decline? he's gotten better each year under Babcock.

@86Arens so basically it all has to do with age for me when you look at kadri. He will be 27 this season and he's playing on what is basically our 3rd line when he gets most of his pts or the PP. To go along with your point that he's only gotten better under Babcock, I agree but I don't see him putting up the same numbers for the next 5 yrs. Maybe 3 if we are lucky. Nvm getting better.

As for Brown, 12 of 20 goals were when he was eaither set up by Matthews nylander kadri or Reilly. So in other words he was filling in on the top line. Don't get me wrong he finished, but he won't be playing with edms first line. At least from what I see. Just to add now. The reason he was so productive this year was the same reason Matthews scored 4 goals against ottawa. No one knew how to play the leafs. We didn't even know which line was our 1st lol. Once people figured out Matthews was a true stud in every way but faceoffs. They started shutting down that line. At which point he was moved to the kadri line and was set up by kadri and uncle Leo. Don't get me wrong he could keep growing and elevating his game. But people don't pay for possibilities with players like him. It what has he done.

So in the end is have to say we are low balling edm.

Brown has also played with mcdavid, if it's due to what draisaitl wanting to much money for edm to pay they can get a better package. The leafs take the deal and flip draisaitl else where.

Brown has proven doubters wrong and put up points at every level, regardless of who he was playing with.

Kadri isn't going anywhere. He plays with a lot of grit and is too valuable a player for the new look Leafs.
