They have to have a defensmen available that is eligible;
I assume they would extend dahlbeck to expose him. They were also shopping faulk earlyer in the season. I think he would be great abd is really underrated.

All they have to do is extend Matt Tennyson a year and they are covered.

Just like the Leafs did with Ben Smith for the 2nd forward requirement.

They also have the option to trade for an elligible player (a new market commodity) .

Faulk is going nowhere.
