The Isles are in trouble for the expansion draft. Pulock who has not cracked their NHL lineup needs to be exposed and can be had for a bargain.

The Isles must protect Boychuk, and he had played well for them. They likely will also protect Leddy and Hamonic. They could opt for the 4 and 4 method, but there is still De Haan and Hickey ahead of Pulock

Leipsic has performed well in the AHL, just like Pulock. It's an even trade with the added aspect that they will lose Pulock for NOTHING in the expansion draft.
