Rather Nylander than Patrick awful proposal we don't even need a centre we have Matthews if you're forgetting and when bozak gone we'd still have Kadri and still good prospects to come in Patrick would be our 3rd line centre. People might not agree but Kadri is indeed a first line centre he'll play on the 2nd line though obviously

Av's want to re-tool. They will not give up a shot at Patrick; let alone some other dynamic players in the next 3.

The Leafs will not give up Nylander and Gardiner for for just the pick. Add something else, a Dman, a prospect. Grimaldi, Compher, Bigras, Greer and so on.

Depends on how desperate StL is by the deadline. But their 1st is like a high 2nd. so maybe.

JVR > Fowler; Ducks need to add. The Ducks will not make a deal for Fowler.

Ok, but the Pens are in cap hell. They are already using 3M out of 4.5 in LTIR. You will need to take back all 3M in a cap dump.
Therefore do a trade instead.

TOR: Komarov, Polak, Chebykin(Euro) (5.2 M)

PIT: Daley(cap dump & trade), Shultz, Sheary, Sprong (6.06 M)

A lot, maybe too much. But the Pens are cap stuck. Time to take advantage.

@David

The Marlies suck. Cull them, cull them all!

Time to cull the herd and bring in fresh talent. Some will come normally, but all our 20 yr olds in junior should all be brought up to the Marlies.

Korshov next year especially. His KHL coach's comments about his broken leg were something to the like of "Oh Well! Now someone else gets a chance on the 3rd line"; after the jerk barely played Korshkov, and stuck him on the 3rd line. Probably didn't get his bribe money or something.

With Colorado it's the same; the best prospects are already up with the club. Greer, Biagras, and Compher and others are not top prospects; but that's the same with most clubs, except the Canes who don't want to pay theirs.

But I was thinking of Mikko Rantanen as the main piece and Barrie. Barrie fills our need on the RHS. If not he can be traded easily.

TOR: JVR, Carrick, Dermott, Lindberg

COL: Barrie, Rantanen, Greer, 2nd 2017, 2nd 2018.

Toronto gets a RH defenseman with offense, a top notch RW, a big LW for the 3rd line (maybe better), and two 2nd.

Colorado gets a high end LW vet to make a solid 2nd line; a good but green, young Dman, a solid D prospect, and a big RW prospect who just needs playing time.

Both teams get young players/prospects (JVR is still 27 until May).
We are close enough for the cap restrictions and covered for the expn draft.

Barrie is not a perfect Dman but he does have better talent which is similar to Gardiner's. And he's locked in for 4 years.

Why Barrie? Because our current Dmen can't score worth a crap except for Gardiner and he's never excelled at it. And by next season the offense will start to really gel together.

Why Rantanen; good talent; this moves Nylander to center where he belongs. Bozak is to be traded somewhere else (StL?) along with uncle Leo (ANA).

If I did it right this just leaves one LW position to fill with Soshnikov and one RW - Kappanen to the 4th line (to learn back checking). You could also bring up Leipsic and float him or Sosh.

Now the Marlies really suck. Bring in the reserves.
