Leafs need a true number 1 Rielly is an amazing number 2 but not a number 1.

Hamilton needs to be a top priority if he is indeed available as reported on HNIC. As long as it doesn't involve Matthews, Rielly, Marner, Nylander, or a non lottery protected first rounder. I personally would rather deal JVR, Prospect, and second rounder.

Your not trading kapanan for hamilton. Also is hamilton a very good defence man his plus minus is awful. I have really followed him but trade Bain leafs have is JVR Bozak Komarov and maybe Kadri who seems to be worth keeping in leaf land, plus leafs have alt of bottom defence man they can throw into deals.

Kapanen is what I would consider an 'expendable' prospect, same as Rychel or Lindberg. Losing any of them doesn't do the team any real harm, so if that's the piece you need to make it happen, do it

It was reported that teams are asking about Hamilton. Not that Calgary is shopping him.
