Did you take a look at Browns contract. NO, NO, NO. Forbort is best forgot. Likely a mid to late 1st. Not great value for so much youth.

Hpm, no you didn't really sacrifice anything in the way of youth, and trying to get a 1st back is admirable, but there's just no way Lou & co. are going to take the brown contract. It's just pure poison.

Too many dilusional trades are posted, this is a realistic one. remember what contracts are coming off the books after this year on leafs books? Or would that be too much forward thinking?

Forward thinking is NOT taking 6 years at 5.5+mil for a player who is at best a 3rd line winger. Yes, we have contracts coming off the books in the next 2 years, which will free up a lot of room to add GOOD players and extend the talent we already have. Brown is dead weight, and the 1st just isn't adequate compensation for that contract. Also, whose roster spot is that pylon going to be taking? Which of our deep prospect pool isn't going to develop or get ice time because we have 6 years of dead weight playing instead?

HPM, this isn't a personal attack, and I agree there's way too many ridiculous proposals here. I am, however, vehemently against anything that brings Dustin Brown to TO. Adding Brown hurts the leafs far more than a mid 1st helps

No, you are not being realistic. Forbot is worthless. Browns contract is ridiculous, and only a delusional idiot for a GM would take that on for even just a late 1st. Brown is a rapidly declining player and is of no use to the Leafs. He is old (32) and will be a detriment to the team. At the rate he is slowing he won't even be able to play in 2 years.

On top of that you want to give away 4 players. Holland and Leivo are young. Enroth is our backup goalie, a good one at a cheap price. And Hunwick is a cheap vet who works hard and doesn't complain; a good NHL vet backup.

The deal just makes zero sense for the Leafs. They need either picks, or young players (preferably RH Dmen).

The addition of an old player means the subtraction of a young player that has to go back to the minors.

Also: think how hard it is to tolerate Lupuls contract for 1+ more years; and he is even an effective forward if he can ever play again.

This deal is an absolutely ridiculous proposal with no merit whatsoever. This deal hurts the team, all for the reason to add a "mid to late" 1st rnd. pick who may never even make the team.

Nonsense, just absolute nonsense!
