Interesting ideas. I like your trade proposals. They seem balanced and fair for both sides. I like the fact you used both draft picks and players to improve the team. It would be nice if some or all of these happened. I'm not in line with your centre free agent signings but that's okay. Different people. Different opinions. You addressed the big needs of defense center and goalie. Nice post

Very interesting post. Thought out and reasonable. That Arizona trade would be a steal for the Leafs (Strome has more points than Marner playing Centre) and OEL is the most underrated defender in the league. Trouba is an overpayment but take away the second rounder and it seems palatable. The Ducks trade is very interesting as he's a legitimate #1 goalie but he lost the job. The Pitt trade won't happen (they've got nothing left in the cupboard and would be loathe to trade Sprong).

To Chrisdafish, Strome does not have more points than Marner. Marner has 114 pts and Strome has 103 pts. Marner also has more goals as well!

Although Strome is a good centre prospect, is he a number 1 Centre?

If the leafs select Matthews, he would be a number 1 centre and Nylander a number 2! That's a great 1-2 punch! My fear is Strome would only ever be a 2 and then the Leafs are with a 2A and 2B, vs a bonified #1

Go with the top prospect! Matthews as an 18 y/o is 10th in the Swiss league scoring with 46 pts in 36 games!
