The Wild are floundering so why not try a goalie swap Samsonov for Fleury. Add a sweetener if needed

Hearing some whispers around Fleury as hildeby is sitting out tonight.

I really don't want Fleury.

I know he's got the pedigree, but I've always thought flower was overrated.

I don’t get all the goalie talk I’m pretty sure will and jones are fine.

Sending Hildeby to Minnesota for MAF would be another in an ever growing list of mistakes by Treliving.
MAF’s career is ending.
Hildeby’s career is just starting.

No chance they trade Hildeby for Fleury. They need D first and foremost. Then a goalie. Trade Nylander anytime. Another half ass effort back checking tonight.

Who said anything about sending Hildebyto the Wild?

If I'm targetting a goalie Im Looking at Gibson. A solid goalie on a rubbish team who still have a career 912 s% and term. That gets a couple years for woll to get even better in hopes he doesn't build an injury history.

I would go after Saros over Gibson. Cheaper contract, though he'd cost much more to acquire.

WB49. What exactly is the long list if Treliving mistakes so far?

Klingberg and Reaves signings. Trading Lafferty?

Someone may question signing Bertuzzi, Domi and the Kampf signing, but they seem to be working out. So has the Klingberg signing as Leafs now have his cap space.

Positives
Taking Sammy to arbitration
Benoit
Lagesson
Gregor
Jones
Delaying Murray on surgery so it takes the whole year
Akhtiamov finally getting signed
Gambrell
getting Cowan signed
Chadwick signed
Not giving in to contract demands of Bunting and Schenn
Not bringing back Kerfoot and Holl especially at what they signed for
O'Reilly and Acciari apparently did not want to come back, so that is not on Treliving.

Klingberg
Reaves
Letting Gustafsson walk
Letting Schenn walk when the word was he would like to stay with the Leafs for $2M if given a 3rd year.
Signing Bertuzzi for $5.5m to fill the gap at LW when Duchene was available for $3M (check their stats)
Passing on Bujgstad $2.1m and signing Domi for $3M as 3rd line center.
Trading Lafferty instead of sending Reaves to the Marlies.
Overpaying Kampf a 4th line center $2.45 for 4 years.

That’s a pretty good start (off the top of my head) for his first 6 months on the job!

Then let’s not forget not getting Nylander signed, whom Leafs will now likely end up keeping as an “own rental” only to watch him walk away in free agency next summer for no return.

You seem like someone who can not deal with anyone who disagrees with you?

WB49

It's always the guys on here that are the most aggressive and disagreeable in their posts that say others have trouble with people disagreeing with me. Explain to me how my post to you suggests I am the one that can't handle someone disagreeing with me. I asked you a simple question from your statement and offered my own opinion on his moves. How does that show an issue with my ability to handle people disagreeing with me. It is you who threw a shot at me in your last post because I asked you a simple question.

If you actually read my posts as you say you do, I have often responded saying "fair enough" or "IMO" etc. I don't tell people their props are ridiculous etc nor do I say people don't know what they are talking about if we disagree. I don't use! at the end of each sentence to emphasize how right my thoughts are. Can you say you do the same WaterBuffalo? You know you can't.

Funny, you basically list what I already conceded that would be bad or one's opinion could be a bad move. So I will only address the rest I hadn't mentioned, which is all very bias anb subjective on your part.

Gustafsson. Why would Tree re-sign a guy they weren't previously playing? The Rangers only gave him a 1 year deal at $.825M. Whey didn't the Rangers lock him up long term if he was so great? Hard to say he was a sought after D-man the Leafs missed out on. On top of that, why would Gustafsson re-sign in Toronto when they didn't play him?

Schenn. So Schenn was going to give up $2.25M to stay in Toronto? Seems unlikely. He has struggled in Nashville you know. He is getting the lowest icetime of all their D and is a -2, a stat you rely on. You have argued not trading for older D-men because the Leafs need to stop going for old guys, but at the same time complain the GM didn't give a 3rd pair D-man who is already slower than most D-man in the League a 3 year deal at $2M that takes him to 37. How does that make sense? You don't see the contradiction?

Duschene and Bjustad. How do you know they would have signed with Toronto and for that money? We already have learned O'Rielly and Acciari did not want to come back. We know he tried to sign Dumba but he wanted $5M+ and term, so Tree passed on him. No GM can just sign anyone they want at whatever price, the player has all the say in free agency.

Kampf. I agree, it was an overpay. I said that from the start. Yet, you think overpaying Schenn to stay would be a good move.

Nylander is not signed because he wants $10M+ on a long term deal It is not because Tree hasn't tried to re-sign him. He has given Nylander an offer and Nylander has rejected it. So you want Tree to just give Nylander whatever he wants like Dubas did? How would that be a smart move as a GM? Plus, that situation is not concluded yet, so hard to say what the outcome will be already.
