Crouse, Dumba 50% retained and Durzi for Brodie, Robertson, Liligren and 1st

I cant imagine why any GM would agree to this deal. Did the Yotes suddenly hire Mike Milbury?

2.) 09 Mar 2024 13:18:27
Where did u get the idea jankrok and kampf are gone.
Domi Bertuzzi mcmann brodie edmundston lybushkin geo samsonov jones 3LTIR Murray klingberg muzzin will dons as well but u can’t count them as actual savings
That’s 22 million but all 6 need replacements

Then RFA dewar Gregor liljegren Benoit total 3.85 million and 4 roster spots

So yeah you have 26 million extra dollars needing minimum 3F 4D 1G so guess u can get started now.

Letang at 25% retained for Liligren and Robertson

ByGully

1.) 06 Mar 2024 03:35:54
No more over the hill, past their prime, 36 year old (soon to be 37) defensemen, with 4 more years on their contract at $6.5 million per year.
Not a good idea.

23 Feb 2024 00:53:22
Seth Jones to the Leafs(50% retained) for Timmons, 1st 24 and 25 , Robertson and Lilgeren

ByGully

1.) 23 Feb 2024 04:42:22
I'd they want to trade Seth Jones, those two firsts are going the wrong way.

2.) 23 Feb 2024 11:03:25
Huge overpay by Leafs.

3.) 24 Feb 2024 01:01:52
OMG, no!
We can only hope that Treliving doesn’t make any more monumental mistakes.

27 Dec 2023 16:59:15
The Wild are floundering so why not try a goalie swap Samsonov for Fleury. Add a sweetener if needed

ByGully

1.) 27 Dec 2023 20:21:00
Hearing some whispers around Fleury as hildeby is sitting out tonight.

2.) 27 Dec 2023 21:27:58
I really don't want Fleury.

I know he's got the pedigree, but I've always thought flower was overrated.

3.) 27 Dec 2023 22:33:57
I don’t get all the goalie talk I’m pretty sure will and jones are fine.

4.) 27 Dec 2023 23:45:34
Sending Hildeby to Minnesota for MAF would be another in an ever growing list of mistakes by Treliving.
MAF’s career is ending.
Hildeby’s career is just starting.

5.) 28 Dec 2023 01:22:56
No chance they trade Hildeby for Fleury. They need D first and foremost. Then a goalie. Trade Nylander anytime. Another half ass effort back checking tonight.

6.) 28 Dec 2023 01:43:10
Who said anything about sending Hildebyto the Wild?

7.) 28 Dec 2023 03:09:20
If I'm targetting a goalie Im Looking at Gibson. A solid goalie on a rubbish team who still have a career 912 s% and term. That gets a couple years for woll to get even better in hopes he doesn't build an injury history.

8.) 28 Dec 2023 11:16:13
I would go after Saros over Gibson. Cheaper contract, though he'd cost much more to acquire.

9.) 28 Dec 2023 13:39:28
WB49. What exactly is the long list if Treliving mistakes so far?

Klingberg and Reaves signings. Trading Lafferty?

Someone may question signing Bertuzzi, Domi and the Kampf signing, but they seem to be working out. So has the Klingberg signing as Leafs now have his cap space.

Positives
Taking Sammy to arbitration
Benoit
Lagesson
Gregor
Jones
Delaying Murray on surgery so it takes the whole year
Akhtiamov finally getting signed
Gambrell
getting Cowan signed
Chadwick signed
Not giving in to contract demands of Bunting and Schenn
Not bringing back Kerfoot and Holl especially at what they signed for
O'Reilly and Acciari apparently did not want to come back, so that is not on Treliving.

10.) 29 Dec 2023 03:47:03
Klingberg
Reaves
Letting Gustafsson walk
Letting Schenn walk when the word was he would like to stay with the Leafs for $2M if given a 3rd year.
Signing Bertuzzi for $5.5m to fill the gap at LW when Duchene was available for $3M (check their stats)
Passing on Bujgstad $2.1m and signing Domi for $3M as 3rd line center.
Trading Lafferty instead of sending Reaves to the Marlies.
Overpaying Kampf a 4th line center $2.45 for 4 years.

That’s a pretty good start (off the top of my head) for his first 6 months on the job!

Then let’s not forget not getting Nylander signed, whom Leafs will now likely end up keeping as an “own rental” only to watch him walk away in free agency next summer for no return.

You seem like someone who can not deal with anyone who disagrees with you?

11.) 29 Dec 2023 13:22:38
WB49

It's always the guys on here that are the most aggressive and disagreeable in their posts that say others have trouble with people disagreeing with me. Explain to me how my post to you suggests I am the one that can't handle someone disagreeing with me. I asked you a simple question from your statement and offered my own opinion on his moves. How does that show an issue with my ability to handle people disagreeing with me. It is you who threw a shot at me in your last post because I asked you a simple question.

If you actually read my posts as you say you do, I have often responded saying "fair enough" or "IMO" etc. I don't tell people their props are ridiculous etc nor do I say people don't know what they are talking about if we disagree. I don't use! at the end of each sentence to emphasize how right my thoughts are. Can you say you do the same WaterBuffalo? You know you can't.

Funny, you basically list what I already conceded that would be bad or one's opinion could be a bad move. So I will only address the rest I hadn't mentioned, which is all very bias anb subjective on your part.

Gustafsson. Why would Tree re-sign a guy they weren't previously playing? The Rangers only gave him a 1 year deal at $.825M. Whey didn't the Rangers lock him up long term if he was so great? Hard to say he was a sought after D-man the Leafs missed out on. On top of that, why would Gustafsson re-sign in Toronto when they didn't play him?

Schenn. So Schenn was going to give up $2.25M to stay in Toronto? Seems unlikely. He has struggled in Nashville you know. He is getting the lowest icetime of all their D and is a -2, a stat you rely on. You have argued not trading for older D-men because the Leafs need to stop going for old guys, but at the same time complain the GM didn't give a 3rd pair D-man who is already slower than most D-man in the League a 3 year deal at $2M that takes him to 37. How does that make sense? You don't see the contradiction?

Duschene and Bjustad. How do you know they would have signed with Toronto and for that money? We already have learned O'Rielly and Acciari did not want to come back. We know he tried to sign Dumba but he wanted $5M+ and term, so Tree passed on him. No GM can just sign anyone they want at whatever price, the player has all the say in free agency.

Kampf. I agree, it was an overpay. I said that from the start. Yet, you think overpaying Schenn to stay would be a good move.

Nylander is not signed because he wants $10M+ on a long term deal It is not because Tree hasn't tried to re-sign him. He has given Nylander an offer and Nylander has rejected it. So you want Tree to just give Nylander whatever he wants like Dubas did? How would that be a smart move as a GM? Plus, that situation is not concluded yet, so hard to say what the outcome will be already.

Can you please sign Schenn already!!!!

ByGully

1.) 01 Jul 2023 01:32:44
Depends on the number.

Schenn's put together a few good seasons for himself now. He might be looking at a 3x3 from someone. I would not sign schenn to that.

2.) 01 Jul 2023 20:33:27
Schenn to Nashville I think 3 yrs 2.75

A little rich but will be missed

Thanks Schenn for giving us a good 2nd look at u. You’ve become a beast and enjoy Nashville

So Nashville has a cap hit of 6.55 for duchene and johansen and cap hit of 7.685 for Nyquist and oreilly. So 14.235 vs 16. Next year that cap hit goes up to 9.55 for those 2 meaning 17.235 is the cap on the 2 forwards replacing them. 3rd year johansen off books but duchene goes up to 6.55 and with Nyquist 3.185 and oreillys 4.5 jumps up to 11 million cap hit for the guy he replaced. Final year of oreilly contract duchene drops to 1.55 meaning oreilly is a6.05 against cap. Then Nashville keeps getting a cap hit if 1.55 for 2 more years. I mean yes they owed duchene 20 million and saved 11 in the end and saved 8 while paying 8 for johansen but 19 million saved vs

18 million actual dollars
saved but 24.37 spent on 2 replacing players.

Just thought I’d brake it down on how Nashville saved 12 million over 4 years in real money

48.475 is the 4 year cap hit used to replace 2 hits where johansen 16 over 2 and duchene 24 over 3 is 40 over 3

Anyways hope u liked the clarity and if not whatever Nashville isn't any better

So oreilly enjoy Nashville.

With the need for 2 new assistances why not add from the farm and hire AJ MacLean. And then add good o'l dad in Paul MacLean . He was a great addition to the Blue Jackets bench which just beat Toronto.

ByGully

1.) 18 Aug 2020 02:46:44
I agree it's not a bad move. Boudreau is the hope for us all but if not then their are replacements.

2.) 19 Aug 2020 23:29:11
Jacques Martin anyone?

17 Aug 2020 02:21:53
All this talk of assistant coaches. Just get it over with. AJ MacLean is all ready in the system with the Marlies ( would be a great addition. Hockey is in the blood). And then hire his dad Paul MacLean. Lots of experience and was on the bench with the blue jackets that just bet the leafs.

DONE

Jacques Martin maybe? "Anyone? Anyone? "
(That's a quite from Ferris Bueller's Day Off btw) .

Why don't the Leafs try to sign Andrew MacDonald.. he blocks shots like nobody and eats minutes . Yes he was on a bad contact but so are a lot of other players. He would cost you nothing in picks or prospects. I'm sure he would sign league minimum as he's still getting paid. He played pretty well in the Spengler Cup. And while they are at it why not try to sign Scotty Upshall ( veteran leadership) and Alex Grant( for the Marlies and maybe a call up)

Low cost. Sign Andrew MacDonald (shot blocking machine)and Scott Upshall (depth grit) form Spengler Cup

Too old and slow. They are both overseas now for a reason. They just don’t have what it takes to compete in today’s nhl. They were both fine players when they were in the big leagues, but right now they are both overaged and it shows as not a single team in the nhl was willing to sign them.

That’s funny I was thinking something similar.

To the Ducks.

Marner, Lilejgren, Robertson and 2023 1st

To the Leafs

McTavish, Drysdale and 2023 1st ( second overall )
