How so Torontobuds?

Deals work to fill needs on both teams.
For us, We shed about $3M which means we could take on salary to acquire a backup or something else. We are more cost controlled going forward. Mayfield is coming from playing for Trotz, defence first. We can make up for Johnsson's loss of offence. Barrie hasn't been that great for us and Bracco isn't likely making this team as we already have too many players like him. Mayfield and Dickinson and some size. Robertson is a pretty good prospect and we pick up another 3rd round pick this year.

If you are trading Johnsson, I would want a higher quality RHD than Mayfield. The 3rd round pick in not of much value at this point

Dickenson you added him and then he's on the 4th line, why bother. Barrie is worth a lot as a trade piece on his own, likely could get a 1st or a high end prospect for him.

I don't think Barrie is worth alot. He is probably worth a second which has conditions to become a first.

I agree more than Mayfield for Johnson but in all reality Johnson was decent last year and hasn't looked good this year. How much do you think his value is? Probably more than Mayfield but I don't know by how much.

Have to agree to disagree Torontobuds.
IMO-you are undervaluing a 27 year old RHD that plays 20 mins a night on a great contract and then add to that the value that great contract has to the Leafs with their cap situation. On top of that, Johnsson is expendable and we can use the cap space.
As for Barrie's value, you may get a late 1st, I could see that. Have you checked out the numbers Robertson has put up in his career, especially this year in the AHL. (1st AHL season 30 pts in 45 games) . As a 20 year old in his first AHL season 17G13A in 45 games is 1st round value. Dickinson is on the 4th line for now because of our depth. Doesn't mean he doesn't get net front on 2nd PP or move up the line up over time. At only $1.5M this year and next, if he is on the 4th line, no biggie too me.
