Leafs can't play defence and Nashville can't score so I'm the spirit of them having just played let's try something different lol.

Press get Dermott and Johnson I'm return as Marner is signed for 6 years Josi has 9 I believe. Josi also makes less. With Nylander and Kapanen I could see moving Marner if the deal is right. Mikheyev replaces Johnson going forward and Sandin slots in for Dermott. Going forward (as much as this hurts me to say) if the season goes south you trade Reilly for a monster return. If we make the playoffs this year you can still lose Reilly in a few years to free agency and it won't be a huge hit.

I believe Josi has a full NMC so it couldn't happen anyway was just trying to find something original.

You would have to really love Josi in order to do that. He’s having a good year. But not not good of a year. He’s more of the same. A roaming forward more than a defenseman. I’d rather keep Reilly over the long run. He’s a lot younger.

Agreed with LeafsGm Josi is a good player but we have that player now in Reilly for a lot cheaper.

Reilly is a lot cheaper for 2.5 years. After that his price jumps to 10+ where Josi is signed for 9 years.

Josi is also 30 years old. By the time that contract is over Josi will be long washed up. Just like so many before him. Keith and Seabrook are the obvious examples. There are many many more, and you know that as well. Lol.
