Toronto:Kapanen,Johnsson,ceci and a 3rd Florda: Yandle,hoffman(50%retained)and Spencer Knight. I like this for the leafs it gets them a good rental in Hoffman,a solid D in yandle not the best contract but pay Seattle a 2nd or prospect to take him in the expansion draft and protect the rest of the team.and a A+ goalie prospect the can replace Freddie in a few years.

Lol. Ignoring the obvious, I like the basis behind the trade. A few reasons why Leafs pass still though, even if Florida wasn’t the enemy right now: Yandle is old, Hoffman is UFA, and Knight is still largely unproven. I like the idea of getting Knight though. If he is true starter, which every analyst I’ve read seems to think, then he would be the piece I would like most for the Leafs to pursue. Yandle and Hoffman are good players, but neither is a game changer like Knight. Bobrovsky makes Knight expendable, and I imagine Florida will be looking to trade him maybe as early as this offseason.
