Hopefullly after a week or two after the all star break Trevor Moore has finished his conditioning thing with the Marlies. Muzzin is expected to return either right after or a week after the all star break. Lineup at the trade deadline with Moore and muzzin back.

Hyman Matthews Marner
Johnson Tavares Nylander
Moore Kerfoot Engvall
Timashov Spezza Gauthier

Muzzin Montour
Dillon Barrie
Dermott Holl

Dillion is a -4 this year but don't let that scare you. His team is a -37 and for his career he is a plus 11. Oh and he also happens to be 6"4 and weighs 250 pounds. Someone that can be very physical and a great addition to the team. Montour is a great two way defensmen and is a plus 4 right now playing on a ream that prob won't make the playoffs.

My first paring is a shut down paring. My second park I put Dillon with Barrie so Barrie can worry a bit less about defence. Dermott and Holl have experience playing together and they are a perfect last paring.

By far the most redicules trade offers I've seen on here. So give up A+ prospect in Robertson for a #5 d man, kapanen and a 1st for struggling Montour (MAYBE a top 4 D man) Not to mention that takes away another 1st round pick for the 3rd straight year. Not smart at all and would never happen! Thank god your not the GM!

I’m going to ignore the trades and just have a bit of fun poking holes at your lineup. Your first pair is a shut down pair. That means that for most of the game you are expecting Leafs to play defense. That runs opposite what Leafs system is. Also, Montour is more of an offensive player than a defensive one. Having him in a shut down role is not going to work well. A better shut down pairing that has worked well this season is Muzzin/ Holl. Neither Muzzin or Montour are top line players, more like middle pairing players. And Dillon is a bottom pairing player. He definitely should not be ahead of Dermott, and probably shouldn’t be ahead of Holl either. Is either Dillon or Montour any better than Sandin or Liljegren that we need to trade for them. If size is what you want, we have Harpur in the minors. He can do the same job as Dillon and won’t cost to trade. And Montour is not so much better than Sandin that we need to trade away a 1st plus a good roster player like Kapanen.

These look like panic trades. They are long term solutions to short term problems. So the big question is: what do you do when Reilly returns?
