Although the Leafs can make it work, they will be tight up against the cap. The Leafs need to trade Brown to give some wiggle room.

To NYI: F - C. Brown + 2019 7th

To TOR: D - B. Wilde + 2019 2nd (CAL)

NYI get another young winger who Lamoriello is familiar with for a prospect that is not event their best young RD, he's behind both Pulock and eventually Dobson on their charts.

I always loved Wilde and wish we had that 2nd round pick given in the Plekanec deal to snag him in the draft. I guess there are issues with his character which made him fall. I would love to see him in a Leafs jers. Need more pissed off players in the system!

I think the value may be too low to get him as his ceiling may be high. Maybe remove the second rounder from NYI and add a higher pick from Toronto?

I honestly don’t think Brown is worth a second round pick. He’s a good player, sure, but he’s a middle six player at best. Wilde is a highly rated prospect with lots of upside. If we could just him for Brown, I think that would be a real nice trade.

Ok so maybe remove the 7th from the Leafs and drop the pick down from the Isles or push it out a year or something. I tend to lean on players in the NHL vs not have more value.
