Just wondering what leads could offer to get Makar in a deal

Anything more than Nylander, and Leafs say no. Even Nylander is a lot to be paying for an unproven prospect player in collegiate, not even AHL or KHL.

Makar has all the makings of a real stud defenseman. Looking at the very impressive performance of other rookie defensemen as highly rated as Makar, it seems like a pretty safe bet this kid is going to be the real deal. I hate the thought of trading a player of Nylander’s caliber for a prospect, but we are talking about one of the highest rates prospext RHD in the world.

Depends on what colorado values nylander as. i say its a great deal. value is pretty close. although leafs may want to add a player who helps this teams defence for this years cup run for nylander. I say screw it and get Makar. great topic for discussion.

This doesn’t get done til after July 1 the team that receives nylander would be getting him @ 5.5 million for 5 years

Leafs would then have

Reilly makar
Dermott liljegren
Sandin Rosen

As very cheap players going forward.

They could add off season. To Zaitsev Olgahanov another good defencemen on short term deal.
