The right time to trade Matthews & Marner is now, seldom this level of talent around the league available in trades, and both are diminishing assets particularly based on the length of the Matthews contract. Trading Mitch alone & Matthews would not be happy, it is time to make those tough decisions. Roster needs an overhaul otherwise Shanny, Dubas & Keefe are all unemployed by end of next season, a very real possibility if Leafs miss the playoffs or suffer another playoff collapse. How big of an impact on Marner & Matthews trade value if that transpires again, devalued assets that will further cripple the club ! At the end of 2021 / 2022 Matthews is less of an asset with only 2 yrs remaining on his contract, & no gurantees their is something of the ilk of a Eichel, Tckachuk, etc. available for a trade.

Sign Hamilton, OV & Oleksiak as UFA's & resign Andersen, Mikheyev & Hyman also UFA's. Bank on Mikheyev refinding his offensive game, that was a horrific injury to recover from he suffered & another long offseason will help. Expect Kerfoot & Dermott to go to Seattle.

My mistake on Bennett, Leafs need a 3 rd line C as Kerfoot is not the guy. Kadri if not for the playoff suspensions was the right guy.
