If the leafs want to trade for doughty he better be ready to play 45min a night since they won't be able to fill out the rest of their roster with another 11 million dollar a year player.

Leafs fans are running Zaitsev out of town for a 7th round pick because he's overpaid and he only makes 4.5m a season, once doughty starts to decline while making 11 million he will be the next whipping boy and torn to shreds in Toronto. I'd say look elsewhere for a #1 defenceman.

And you are giving up way too much is right. Those bottom two lines are decimated.

You didn’t say who you were trading Zaitsev for. Maybe we could get a useful bottom six guy for him? I don’t know. But having six rookies make up the bottom half of the roster is enough to give Babcock a nervous breakdown.

Vilardi has history of serious back troubles. I have serious doubts about how good this guys nhl career is going to be, if ever.
