Stl: Gardiner Johnsson Sandin and a conditional 2nd if Gardiner doesn't resign

I will admit this is an overpayment but he is an upgrade for Toronto the leafs need a big stay at home guy that will be cheap enough to keep around Edmundson is 6'4 220 with offensive guys like Liljegren coming up I think we can afford to move Gardiner now while he has arguably the most value once the season starts I think his value will decline. Now with that being said it's a long shot that St. Louis would even be interested in moving him but they did put feelers out on Parayko so anything possible.

We don’t have “guys” like Liljegren coming up. We have Liljegren. And that’s it. One guy. And maybe now Sandin, but you are wanting to trade him away here.

In passing, I would just like to note that Gardiner is worth more than a 2nd, so if he didn’t re-sign, the compensation you have offered is undervaluing him.

I like the idea of adding size, and edmundson is a good player. Big boy. Could hit a little more, but that’s just my opinion.

In order to improve your team you need to make moves you’re delusional if you think Gardiner is worth a 1st he’s not a good defencemen game 7 is the best example the guy chokes under pressure and is only effective if he has a good enough player covering his mistakes. Secondly the leafs have a few guys that can replace Gardiner one being Dermott and others are Liljegren Rasanen durzi. Yes we trade Sandin only cause we need to fill the need of a defensive dman the leafs have more than enough offence.

Game 7 syndrome; get over it already. Gardiner was one of 20 plus players in that final game, there were a few that didn't show up, or I should say; they had only a pulse.

If Gardiner is to be traded, it will be for a first no seconds, please.

Durzi and Rasanen are years away and are long shots to ever make the team. Dermott is already on the team, and is therefore not “coming up”. Dermott replaces Gardiner next year, and Sandin hopefully replaces Dermott. Liljegren replaces Hainsey. Carrick, Ozhiganov, Borgman, Rosen, The Professor and Mary Ann all on Gilligan’s Island.

Gardiner is worth a 1st. Edmundson is not worth anything close to what you are offering.

Rasanen could easily make the roster next year if you think Sandin can make the team I believe Rasanen is the better player out of the two and I can garuntee you no one will pay a first for Gardiner.

Rasanen is not even close. Trust me, I watched him in Kingston for 2 years. He is a project and may never make it. I hope I'm wrong.

Rasanen is behind Hainsey, Zaitsev, Carrick, Ozhiganov, Liljegren, and Holl. Probably behind Rosen and Borgman as well. He’s so far down the depth chart, he might as well be playing on Pluto.

The general consensus on this site is that Gardiner is worth at least a first. We’ll never know, because I expect Leafs will keep him.

If Toronto was going to trade gardiner which I hope they don’t he is easily a worth a first rounder.
