Toews would have to waive his NMC but hawks maybe lacking sleep with this guy on their cap another 5 seasons leafs would be getting Debrincat for minimum next 2 years

I truly believe Debrincat will reach stardom and leafs were silly not to frack him when they had golden chance.

Toews contract doesn't kill leafs same way it's killing Chicago they could get Chicago to retain some salary

Lets look ahead leafs 2 seasons from one Matthews 12 million marner and nylander 6 each long term deals

Leafs 24 million 3 rising stars

Chicago toews Kane 21 million on two dimishing players toews in particular

Debrincat would cost you bozak and a second. There is no way chicago is willing to give away thier captain, probably the best leader in the league for that package. Debrincat toews half retained would be looking something like Marner bozak zaitsev and a first. Lou calls with your offer and chicago doesn't trade with toronto for 15 years out of principle.

David as much as toews would be fantastic in blue and white I don’t believe it will ever happen. The package to get him would be astronomical even with his cap hit I think the hawks should trade one of the big 2. I would be more open to trading Kane and see what Buffalo would be able to offer for his skills I’dont think they are going to blow it up. There both amazing hockey players and any team in this league would want either of them on it 22 points this year is really bad for 10.5 mill but would a change of teams be what he needs.

A player is more then just points though. You don't have to lead your team by being the leading scorer take boston fpr example that team is led by chara and bergeron for there defensive play. Toews is tops in the league for 2 way centres.
