Seeing a lot of Dvorak trades, Dvorak put up those numbers because of Marner. Put Marner with anyone in the OHL and they put up those numbers. OHL is totally different than the NHL Dvorak and Marners game wouldn't translate.
Toronto needs a young D, my proposal.
Kapanen and the 56th pick
To Washington for
Bowey
I have no idea how much the Caps value Bowey but I think he will be making the jump next season and become a top 4 defender.

Bowey has bad character and I am not sure if our management wants someone like that. I believe during a marlies game he directed a homophobic slur to Kapanen.

Please wrap your head around this fact. Matthews WILL NOT be first line centre this year. Or next year. Probably not 3rd year either unless kadri gets injured. The leafs management group is competent. They aren't rushing the development process. Slot Matthews in at #3 C this year. #2 C for years 2&3. 1C in year 4 and beyond. We all know he's got the talent, but he's 18, and Babcock isn't going to give him 1st line until he's earned it.

I agree he will not be a number 1 centre this year, but depending on his development and who is on the roster (aka Stamkos) he could be the #1 Centre in year 2. They are already talking about McDavid being the Captain and top line centre in Edmonton after only playing half a season! But that's McDavid, so I would say if the Leafs DO NOT have Stamkos he could be by the end of year 2. If Stamkos is here, then he tops out at a 2nd line Centre

I agree that you bring Matthews along slowly and hide him from certain situations. Babcock is a master at this. Start him with third line match ups but this kid will progress quickly. He was already USAs top Centre at the past worlds. Use Kadri and Bozak to insulate him for awhile until he is ready to take the reigns. They don't need him to be good next year, they need him to be dominant in three years

The order of the lines aren't important, with a young growing team you roll with your hot line. Top 3 lines in today's game can all play with your 4th as an energy line. Matthews could range from 14-19 minutes per night as Nylander would do the same on the 3rd. because I agree Matthews will get the more favourable match ups and let Kadri take on the Crosbys, Getlafs, Bergerons.

He will not be the #1 this year but if you think he is going to be the #3 then you are delusional.

Matthews will play with an established C during year 1. whether it's Bozak,Kadri or any FA they sign year 1 he will be a RW for the most part. He will get his chances as a C slowly with that other C sliding to the wing only on occasion. the same will happen with Marner. He too will also play with one of the options above while getting limited opportunities in year 1 as a centre. Nylander will be line 3 centre playing with Leo And one other player. all this for year 1. year 2 is too far away to predict.

#3 makes the most sense, in terms of development, and match-up favourability. His line will be given more offensive zone starts. Having him 3C, with Marner on his wing, is going to be a match-up nightmare for opposing coaches. They'll be stronger against teams with thinner depth. Bozak is still going to be 2C this year, whether you like it or not. Paired with Nylander and Lupul until Mr. Glass gets breathed on, then probably Soshnikov or Hyman. As it stands right now, barring trades/ free agency, the lines will likely be as follows:
JVR-Kadri-Komarov
Lupul-Bozak-Nylander
Sosh/Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Others-Others-Others
