Matthews to Phoenix for 2/ 3 of the following:

Strome and / or Domi and / or Dvorak +

their 1st round pick in 2016

John Chayka (26 year old new GM of the team) makes splash with local talent.

Leafs get opportunity to own entire magic line of London Knights (if they can draft Tkachuk), or Nylander etc.

Matthews isn't going anywhere, sorry.
I would like to look at another way to get Dvorák out of Arizona because him and Marner feed off each other.

While I too believe that if the Leafs do trade the 1st overall pick it would take a huge overpayment.
That said I would prefer the Leafs to take Matthews and finally get that true 1st line center that we have needed since Sundin.

No. Leafs are not going to trade the pick, get it past your head. Were not going to pass up a franchise centre in Matthew's.

Normally I would agree with everything said.
Watch the Knights play if you haven't seen their top line.
If Leafs could pry Dvorak away from Phoenix and somehow draft Tkachuk, that would be awesome. I agree we haven't had a front line centre, but Sundin himself couldn't win a cup. We need depth.

Just because players look magical together in JR you have to remember it's just JR. Shremp and Bolland looked magical with Perry back in 04. They both got over 100 points and no one could stop the line. Once Perry was taken away from the 2 they both couldn't adapt to the duds they played with and never truely amounted to much while Perry was and is and always will be the stud he is no matter who he plays with. He makes everyone better not them making him better. Dvorak will become like them unless he gets on a line with Domi or Strome. Tkachuk may amount into something special if drafted into right situation. In closing Marner is the stud that no matter who he plays with will make them better not them making him better. no need to trade the Leafs future for something they will have no matter who they put with Marner.
