I wanted that cash from Reilly’s contract sooooo bad. It woulda given us sooo many different options to tackle free agency. Not sure what pathway I woulda taken (and I’m sure we would all argue about it) but it woulda opened the door for more options.

What options you talking about? Obviously you are thinking something but don’t want to say it. Remember Domi will be LTIR; that’s another 3.75m that can be used. Plus Chayka still not done; he’s going to make more moves. Rielly will be gone. Joshua Lorentz, lots of time.

I'm not holding back, swear!

I guess where I'm struggling as a Leaf fan is lack of prospects. If we actually had a solid prospect pool we wouldn't need to over pay to fill our bottom 6. We'd have younger, faster, stronger and cheaper options and that would give us more money to spend on better players.



Go'n into free agency we were forced to over pay on balancing our lineup. We did a good job keeping those over payed contract to short terms.

Again, woulda loved to get rid of Reilys' contract so we could at least signed one solid player (3rd line centre/D-man) that we coulda built around.

King when u go short term u always pay more. You get better aav with more term. But then again Trouba and Marchement deals kinda are the exception ?????
