Nurse has lost his way.
He can be second pair in Toronto with Tanev.
I believe he has more to offer offensively.
A close wash on the cap as Robertson will probably want 3-4 million.
Rielly gets a fresh start as well.
Robertson would be third line in Toronto behind Knies and Mckenna. Needs a top six place to be most effective.
Perhaps he could be second line on the Oilers.
Howard has potential. Would be a nice add to the third line LW.

I like the deal. Would love to have Nurse. Hometown boy. But that 9.25 for the next 4 seasons is a tough pull to swallow. I feel that I would need retention on that deal even if it means we add a mid pick/prospect.
Also, if we’re not drafting a D in the top 10 then we still need to trade for that puck moving offensive D. Nurse ain’t it.

2nd equals 3 million?
Quillan is 2 million?
Or we remove Howard and they retain 3 million?
I just think Oilers can't retain with their cap situation… but Nurse wants out so they may have no choice if they want some value in the return
I’m not advocating Nurse as the missing puck moving dman in any way
Just posted a trade that I see more value in Nurse and Howard than what we have currently in Rielly and Robertson….

Nurse has all the physical attributes and skating skills. I have said it before, I just wish he was a smarter player and made better decisions on the ice. Otherwise I would be interested. Moreso because of Howard.

I think Podkolzin has the potential with the right line mates to be a similar player to Slafkovsky. Maybe Edmonton adds a pick here? But cap dollars are almost the same with the retention in this deal.

Yes, suffering Nurse lacks what they call hockey IQ… but put him with Tanev and we may be surprised what he brings.
