With the new coming out on Larkin it does the Leafs a favour. Detroit isn’t trading him in division, but what it does is drives the price down on other centres. The Leafs need a two way pk centre that’s why Trochek makes sense but I’d rather see them get someone younger.
Tor: 1st (avs) Benoit the rights to one of Maccelli or Robertson and Tyler Hopkins
Avs: Colton Drury
Drury :4x4
Jenner: 4x3
New third line
Colton Drury Jenner
Now before everyone jumps on this trade I’d like to point out that the Avs have Makar's contract up after next year coupled with the fact that they don’t have a bottom pair so they are dumping Colton’s 4 million and then Drury who was pushed down to the fourth line due to centre depth the Leafs are giving up a 1st a blue chip prospect another young asset in one of Robertson or Maccelli and a cheap bottom pair dman.
Then I added Jenner as a ufa signing Ontario guy plays a hard two way game

Yup makes perfect sense.

I know everyone says the 1st is like a 2nd but the way the West teams are all improving and some of the East teams as well, and with chemistry changes Colorado will have to make to their lineup because of being tight on that cap, there is that chance that even though they will still put up some great numbers that they may drop from that 32nd spot in the 1st round down 7 to 8 spots. In the overall draft order.
The one part of that deal I would take off the table right away is Tyler Hopkins. Don't go to sleep on this kid. He could be a real sleeper for us. He came down the stretch with 9 goals and 14 points in his last 10 games in Guelph and has grown an inch and a half and put on 10 lbs since we drafted him a year ago. I would love to see another couple years out of him first.

@golftown They would be third liners with the ability to move into the top six both on cost controlled deals it holds value.
