Trade idea.
Toronto Maple Leafs receive Aleksandre Carrier (shot blocker) and Owen Beck (young talent)

Montreal Canadiens receive Bradon Carlo, Luke Haymes, 2026 2nd-round pick, and a 2027 2nd-rond pick.

And yeah, Beck hasn’t really gotten his NHL career going properly yet, but if you dig into his potential a bit, Toronto could end up with a really good 3rd-line center in Owen.

Owen Beck is the main target here, and Carrier would slot into Toronto’s second pairing on defense. Carlo is too limited offensively for my liking, he’s the kind of defenseman who’s really hard to “use” in a modern system if your puck-moving game is basically non-existent.

Maybe a bit of an overpay from Toronto, but sometimes trades just aren’t perfectly even.

So how does it break down as far as player and draft picks as what are the Leafs paying the Habs for Carrier and what are we paying for Beck?

Montreal wouldn't do this trade. They are pretty solid on dmen, especially near the top end. They won't pay anything they can address cheaply in free agency.
