Just not seeing Matthews wanting to go to Philly. I can see him wanting to go 300 miles west to Pittsburgh, where he could get out of the media limelight without the burden of wearing the "C". With Sid he could just go play and not worry about being the guy.

So many flaws in this trade. #1 It's a pretty underwhelming return expecially when Woll is involved and you are also asking the Flyers to take on 25% of Matthews' contract. First think that stands out is .... What would Tippett, who is a winger, waive his trade rights to not be able to play with Matthews? Notr to mention Tippett is basically a 45 Point scorrer.

Second is having Zegras, a RFA, even in the mix. Again... he would be saying, "Hold on. I could be on a line with Mattews?" I'll sign and trade someone else. lol Plus that 3rd in 2028 sould be a 1st in the following year after Matthews re-signs if he does. Otherwise what is the point of a first in 2028?
