To Toronto: Duncan Keith

To hawks: Nathan Horton
Andreas Johnnsson
2019 1st
Maybe another late
Pick.

I think it could be a descent trade maybe just what the leafs need on back end to push them over the top and by giving them Horton it leaves us with cap space or equals out and good for the short term for leafs...might hurt us last Couple years but we may have something to show for it...Blackhawks in the long term for getting rid of Keith's contract and Johnnsson and a first should be good...maybe another late pick

Awful. again, Horton can be put on LTIR so his cap doesn’t matter. Keith is washed up and overpaid.

Leafs can't afford him maybe leafs take him for them 25% retained and chicago and leafs swap firsts.

Keith still has value. And his contract is attractive to a low budget team. I’m not sure Leafs are the best destination for him to finish his career. He may just retire rather than accept a trade to a non-competitive team. It’s shocking how fast his career fell apart. It’s always a little sad to see a guy like Keith try to drag out his career to the bitter end. I was reading an article not so long ago about this. See it so often: Jagr, Chelios, even Gretzky. These guys just can’t let go. Drag it out to the bitter end until they are forced to hang up the skates. The author of the article felt it eventually leaves a bit of a stain on an otherwise spectacular career. I guess if that was me, I might do the same thing though. The love of the game is what these guys live for.
