Now that Nylander is signed a trade for

Brown + Zaitsev+ 1st Round for

David Savard + Anderson.

This allows Leafs for next year to put Anderson on the 3rd line RW and move Kapanen to the LW.

Than trade Gardiner + Johnsson for Makar from the Avs.

Matthews -11 MM and Marner- $9.5 MM

Salary -$82.28 MM, hopefully that is the Cap.

If not trade Marleau

Don't we want a cushion on the cap. If I understand correctly u want to spend to the cap

I ask because what if, for example, Andersen gets hurt and we have no cap space to get a goalie. Yes we can trade but does that not mean we may have to trade someone we don't want to?

Your point is very relevant. That means at July 2nd, Marleau must be traded. Than the Leafs can trade for a better back-up G.

Due to the expensive cost for the top 4 forwards, Leafs will always be challenged.

The other way is to trade Hyman for a backup goaltender.

I like Hyman, but for the savings to pay for a backup of note, there are replacements such as Engvall or Grundstrom who could replace Hyman.

Replacing Sparks and Hyman allows $2 Million for a back-up . The main issue if Reilly went down.

That's where having Hortons contract helps. extra 5 million for that case scenario.

If Colombus will do this deal it improves the leafs Instantly

Reilly and zaitsev 9.5: 69.5

If cap 85 with 5m cushion, we have 10.5 for 6 forwards and 5 defence men. Therefore all at 1m contracts. Something is going to give here. Bottom 3 d and 4th line ok say 6m. Leaves three forwards and 2 d. Brown, hyman and Johnson? Going To cost 6m. Add a top pair d.

Kadri, kapanen and gardiner at risk. For next year. Going to be interesting to see what Dubas does.
