I like this deal but I don't think Melnyk's tight wallet would like an $8 million dollar man for a great prospect on an ELC.

Keon is back. Sweet. Hasn’t been around for a while. Smart fellow with lots of good things to chip in. I hope you don’t ghost the site again. Who is giving up too much? Leafs? Young Tkachuk was off to a good start before he got hurt. He has a very high ceiling and may very well be the better player. Hard to say when we’ve only had a glimpse of what he can do in a poor Ottawa team.

I would like to see Leafs make a move for a player like Tkachuk. It would help alleviate cap situation for a couple more years anyway. By which point, hopefully we could have things sorted out a bit better by the time we need to re-sign him.
