Edmonton might trade number 10 pick and there is plenty of talent around 10th selection

Leafs brown Bracco and Gardiner

Oilers 10 th overall selection

This will allow leafs to sign two major forwards in free agency

Hyman Matthews free agent
Marleau kadri marner
Free agent Nylander Kapanan
Johnson Aaltonen Grundstrom

Christ just stop already. Either that or this place needs a mute button.

How many times have you posted this exact same thing? Adding Bracco, subtracting a 2nd, adding a 3rd, subtracting Brown and adding Hyman. please try something different.

Considering I’ve never seen you even post a single trade once, and offer absolutely no constructive criticism, just insults and slurs, I think it’s safe to say that you are the one who needs to be muted. I’ve never even seen you comment about hockey, instead focusing on spelling, grammar, and punctuation. At least David is trying.

Mackin

I think you’re close here on what esmonton would be seeking for that 10th overall pick. My problem is that you are depleting the roster in order to bring in a player who is never a guarantee to work out. I don’t think Leafs will make this trade u less they already have somone to replace Gardiner with. As an aside, I would put Johnsson on the third line with Kapanen, and look for someone to fill in for the fourth line. You still have Lievo available. You also have Lindholm available for a depth center position, so could keep Nylander as top line winger. This way, we wouldn’t have to be searching for any expensive UFA’s, except maybe for defense.

I like your thinking about trading pending UFA’s and depth players in order to secure a high draft pick. It would allow us to draft and develop our own players without having to trade or go to market, where the acquisition cost of high end talent can get very expensive.

I've actually posted some stuff, different things, such as Gardiner and some prospects for Savard and Jenner, Gardiner for Murphy, Gardiner for a 1st and warm roster bodies, Gardiner + picks + prospects for Klefbom, etc. And I post on here and on the main page too, so yeah.

And I'm not trying to be rude to you David, but just have some kind of different intuition, cause spitting out the same thing on repeat is kinda useless imo. Like, sure, you've added Bracco, or taken out a 2nd, or added Brown, or subtracted Brown, or added Carrick, or some other filler, but its continually for the same piece, the 10th Overall. Try for something different, maybe see that trading Gardiner for picks could be of little use for the Leafs, considering our shortage of dmen. Trading Gardiner for a RHD, or a shutdown D, that makes sense, and trying that makes sense. But continually spitting out this same idea gets boring and kinda annoying to be frank. Here are a couple of my ideas, albeit, probably not better than yours, but at least for some diversity:

Jake Gardiner, Jeremy Bracco and a 2nd Round Draft Pick (SJS) to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for David Savard and Boone Jenner.

A 2nd Round Draft Pick (SJS), Andrew Nielsen and a 4th Round Draft Pick to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Marco Scandella. (May seem low, but remember, taking Ennis/ Pomminville, both cap dumps, out of the Scandella deal, it was basically Scandella for Foligno) .

Jake Gardiner to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Tyler Myers (more pieces can be added, however, with Toby Enstrom leaving, WPG would probably want a puckmover alongside Byfuglien; both guys have 1 year remaining on their current deals)

A 3rd Round Draft Pick and the rights to Leo Komarov to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Sam Morin (Approaching bust territory, worth a gamble) .

Jake Gardiner and a 1st Round Draft Pick to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Oscar Klefbom and a 3rd Round Draft Pick

See, some variety. Maybe they aren't all good, but its better than the same thing x5000.

Leafs gm

Edmonton need forwards although you lose brown you can add more than him in feee agency. This guy in draft looks really good at number 10 Jesperi Kotkaniemi. This move allows leafs to keep adding top prospects. The pressure is really on Gm in Edmonton he has huge problem to get back to playoffs very tall order.

Nylaner (to play on McDavids right side) and Gardner (to quarterback the Oilers PP) to Edmonton in exchange for RNH (Matthews, Kadri, RNH at center) and the 10th overall pick (Leafs take Noah Dobson) .

I agree with you David. The pressure is really going to be on Edmonton’s nton’s GM to make playoffs. Especially with the best player in the league two years in a row on the team. It’s pretty hard to fathom Edmonton remaining a basement dweller with McDavid leading the NHL in scoring. I don’t know what the plans are until edmonton, but the situation is starting to look desperate once again, and I imagine you are correct that at least one move of significance will be made this summer.

I’m not sure if Edmonton will be willing to trade a top 10 pick just yet, but I can easily see them trading a roster player or two and upgrading the back end. Leafs may be able to benefit if we have something they want. Oilers are still stacked with a lot of talent, much of which has not been utilized properly. Just look at Hall’s performance in New Jersey this year, and it is apparent that something smells in Edmonton. And it’s not just the jock straps.

I don’t think the oilers have enough on their roster to improve them enough via trade. That’s why that number one pick is going to be in play . but we will see.
