I think you’re ripping Islanders off. You might get a 4th round pick, if that, for them doing us the favour of taking Martin and Carrick of the books.

With the imminent departure of Thornton, i'm not sure SJ would be looking to trade Hertl. He’s a big kid who can pop in over 20 goals. Would love to have both him and Braun on the team. I’m not sure what you are offering is enough, but is probably close, and trade can be tweaked a bit to make it happen if SJ would do it.

Your lineups look good, though I think I would prefer to keep Hyman on top line with Matthews for now, and keep Johnsson together with Kapanen. Both those lines had good chemistry last year, and would like to think they will stay the same unless things go sour.
