Montreal Canadiens are trying to shop their captain Max Pacioretty.

To Toronto: Max Pacioretty

To Montreal: JVR, Levio

This would be a good trade because Pacioretty has 1 more year left after this year on his contract and it's very affordable at 4.5 million a year. So that solves the leafs problem about trying to replace JVR for at least another year.

Leafs have made a few errors in rebuild. It's not hindsight as I felt leafs should have made these two moves as things were going down

Mistake one

Not drafting Debrincat those stats in OHL the world new he was going to be a player

Malcolm Subban the bruins knew he was gone there was no way he was clearing waivers leafs should have send a pick or prospect to Boston a former number 1 pick was much better than leafs had at backup

Being aggressive is lacking in Toronto as far as moves go.

The Leafs don't need anything from Montreal other than MaCarron and maybe Juulsen.
