TOR: Dermott, Carrick, Kapanen

COL: AJ Greer, JT Compher, 1st (Ott)

The Leafs should move Kapanen as he has nowhere to go on the RHS, and will bring the best return of the AHL'rs. Uncle Leo is cheap and may get re-signed.

The Av's could use Carrick as their 3rd RHD and Dermott is a nice prospect.

The Leafs are taking a gamble on Greer(LW power winger for 3rd line) and Compher(a 3rd or 4th line center), but they have consistently put up decent points in the AHL.
Clearly the prize is the Ottawa 1st.

The fly in the ointment here is that the Senators are currently stinking the joint out.

Once the Leafs trade or lose JVR in the offseason, there will be room for Kapanen.

Kappy is a RW, possible center; but not a LW.

The two Colorado prospects are 3rd liners with 2nd line potential. They will be cheap down the road. And the Leafs will have to shed salary.

The players the Leafs are giving up are expendable and at positions that will not hurt us, with the exception of Carrick, but he will be replaced next year by another.

just because we have other options doesn't mean those planyers don't have value, Dermott is the guy the leafs will bring up to replace gards, and has strong top 4 upside.
