TLDR: one left D leaves in Gardiner, 2 left D come, 1 Rd comes, two firsts, 2nd and 3rd and a left winger prospect which we are thin on

Have to admit. Well done stocking the cupboards but we will regret this with some bad contracts in 3 years. Ie marleau and maata if he doesn't turn out to be the top 2 everyone hopes. Risk is worth the reward but we need to go for it before Matthews signs his ridiculous contract (Ie 90mill over 8yrs) . If we don't win a cup in the next 3 years it will be hard to do so after. Especially if we don't get the players we want in those drafts. We need to stick with what we know now and not hope for better in the future. Although I can see the jvr and Gardiner trades happening at the deadline if we are not where we want to be.

On the other hand if maata keeps getting Injured. We should have some LTIR by then. Hahaha

Great ideas. Think we should wait till the deadline tho.

2) No from the Pens, although not too bad a deal.
3) Would rather have Petrovic or Pysyk. Gardiner can draw better than that. Gardiner might just have an even better year this year.

But you've also dealt away, JVR, Leivo (LW's), a RW Brown; maybe that's why we are thin on LW.

1) No to the Anaheim deal. Trading away a 20-25 goal scorer in Brown for unproven commodities is a no-no and non-starter for me.
2) Leafs would say no way to the 2nd trade proposal with Pittsburgh. Leafs would need insurance if Maatta doesn't pan out. Throw in Sprong along with Maatta and a late 1st Rd pick in 2018 for JVR, Carrick and Marincin and you have a deal
3) Would trade Gardiner to Florida for Petrovic and prospect Max Gildon. Draft picks in later rounds are hit and miss and I don't know much about the Brickley kid but the Leafs are stacked on their forward lines that I don't think the Leafs need more forwards
4) Bozak and Soshnikov to the Rangers for Zibanejad and prospect Sean Day sounds like a solid trade to me.
