Anaheim doesn't want to take on salary in the inevitable trading of at LEAST one of their d-men. They want cheap roster players/prospects or picks.

To LEAFS: Josh Manson
To DUCKS: Brown

OR

To LEAFS: Josh Manson
To Ducks: Leipsic or Rychel plus a 2nd rounder

I really want Manson on our right side next year. They could also factor in Bieksa somehow. We could solve their cap issues AND their expansion issues. We could buy out Bieksa ($1,333,333 for two years) if he wants to go back to Anaheim as a UFA or if he's open to staying it solves our bottom pairing RD need

Everyone is so gung ho to trade for Manson, but that means losing Carrick. Is the trade off really worth it? Whom ever you trade for Manson, add Carrick to that because if exposed he's leaving for Vegas.

Hey Dbone, You definetly have a point but don't forget that we are losing someone. If it's Carrick that means it's not Leivo or Martin. I'd take Manson over Carrick. If the Leafs upgrade their D by leveraging the expansion draft we will be leaving Carrick unprotected regardless.

Reports said Vegas liked marincin but maybe that was because Carrick was going to be protected.

They'll take Carrick in Vegas, also I'd prefer to lose Leivo over Carrick. Martin would be hard to lose but I see Toronto protecting

I know most people will say they protect Leivo, but Martin watches over the kids and he has developed friendships with the young guys. Losing him, although not much on the ice, he is a personality this team needs.

Any upgrade we see will be after the expansion draft I think, Toronto is in the best shape of any team for the expansion. why would they be willing to ruin that jus to make a rushed deal. Lots of time in the off season to upgrade.

Expansion draft provides the best opportunity to upgrade he d. Can let it slip by without utilizing it. I see the Leafs protecting:

Look to trade JvR at the entry draft for another 1st round pick.
