Tor: kerfoot amirov 2nd 2022
Phil: Konecny ratcliff 3rd 2022

I saw that Philly would likely move Konecny if the price was right and I think Toronto should be all over this one Konecny reminds me of a bunting type player plays a smash mouth style but has higher upside offensively looking at the numbers kerfoot Konecny are pretty close 1v1 but Konecny has more term. Leafs add amirov and this years 2nd to sweeten the pot and they take back ratcliff who is a giant he had great junior numbers but it hasn't translated to the nhl just yet could be a fourth line option then the flyers add their third so basically they trade up this draft get a player with term get a quality prospect. Why I also like this for the leafs is it allows them to possibly move nylander to help build a better top 4 d and before someone says it I know the cap doesn't work but I'm betting on more moves being made such as Ritchie and maybe dermott holl.

I think if Konecny gets moved, it is for a deal that they see improve their team now. A lot of their "new" core, should they move out the older guys, are already in the 24-29 age range. Kerfoot is a downgrade for them and Amirov and the 2nd does not help them now and they have a fair amount of young forward prospects already.

If you want Konecny it's Nylander or Sandin as the centrepiece of a deal, not Kerfoot. As RLF said.

Are we talking about the same player? I mean I get he has his value but he hasn’t put up the numbers to suggest he’s worth nylander or sandin I get the flyers wanting a more impactful player in return but I got to think they are going towards a rebuild if they are moving Giroux and possibly Konecny and I seen that they would even listen to offers on provorov to me kerfoot and Konecny are not far apart the difference is one is more of a goal scorer and ones more of a playmaker/ utility player.

@L1994. Maybe it is just me, but I have Konecny better than Kerfoot. Kerfoot is fine, but he isn't a scorer, nor is he a great playmaker. to me, he is just benefitting points wise this year from playing with two high point producing players. If Konecny was for Nylander, than Philly adds imo.

@rfl does the toffoli trade change your mind the habs essentially got a 1st 5th ahl player and fourth liner I think my trade is more valuable for about the same caliber of player other than age difference.

I am not sure why it would. Heineken is a former 2nd round pick who is having a good year as a 20 tear old. That's a 1st, a 2nd, a 5th and a 4th liner and taking no cap back really for Tofolli. I see your deal as slightly more back to Philly to make up the gap between Krrfoot and Konecny while Konecny is signed longer. I think you value Kerfoot more than I do.

I do lol I just see that kerfoot can play both wing and center plays pk minutes and can play up and down the lineup these type of players seem to be more valuable these days.

@L1994. He does, and I am not knocking Kerfoot. He is versatile and is "ok" at just about everything he does. There is noting about Kerfoot's game that really stands out to me other than his speed.
I see him similar in ways to a guy like Luke Kunin, but not as physical. Kunin can play centre if necessary. He can PK and play PP. He can play up and down the lineup. Kunin is at $2.3m is the big difference. This is what I have said about Kerfoot all along. It is not that he is a bad or useless player, but I believe the Leafs can get similar at less of a cap hit and the Leafs need cap space.
