Frederik Anderson - Any team for a first round pick and or blue chip prospect.

Toronto:

William Nylander and a 2021 2nd round pick

Pittsburgh:

Matt Murray, and John Marino

Let’s be honest i don’t see any real scenario where Freddy is our starting goalie of the future, expiring contract and with the recent success he has had during his time in toronto some team will shell out big bucks to have him as there starting goaltender. His age will play a factor too i can’t see the leafs willing to pay north of $6 mill for a goalie that will be going into his age 31-32 season. Meanwhile Matt murray not having the best season of his life is going to lose his starting job to the younger and cheaper Tristan Jarry. Murray is arb eligible and earned $3.75 mill last season.

Can’t say enough good things about John Marino, watched him in the first round this year and for a rookie produced at a high rate this season for a rookie d man. Could potentially see him on the right side of Rielly for years to come.

You won't get anything close to that for Freddy.

The Pittsburgh trade is a bit risky. I like the targets, but both have some question marks. Is Marino really a fixture on a teams defense, or is he going to be a one-hour wonder? Sophomore slumps are very real, and it's impossible to say at this point what the future really holds for him.

Murray seems to be the odd man out in Pittsburgh for a reason. His play has declined lately, and he just doesn't seem to be the player he once was. I still like him better long term than Andersen though.

It's a high risk/ high reward trade. If Marino and Murray can play at high standards again, then we win. If not, we lose spectacular.

Murray at 4mil or less i'd be ok with but the team would have to improve the D. and i don't just mean on the blueline. the leafs problems is all the forwards not playing D enough. i think Matthews has turned a corner but the rest need to go or step up.
