Value is there. Doesn’t match team needs well though. I can’t see Carolina having any interest in Dermott for any reason whatsoever. They are stacked in LHD. And I mean stacked. Even if they traded Pesce right now for whatever crazy reason, they would want a RHD back in return, and that means Liljegren. And from what I’ve seen of Liljegren so far, we better just keep him.

I’m super happy and excited to see him prove all his nay-sayers wrong. There were a lot of guys on this site putting him down and suggesting we trade him. I stood by him and at times I felt like I was the only one. A couple guys already owned up and admitted they were wrong. That looks good on them.

I have a good memory for an old man and I give credit where due. Liljegren is looking like he will easily be as good a top 4 defenseman as Pesce is. Maybe better. And it won’t cost Kapanen to keep him around either.

I like the idea of trading Kapanen for a top 4 RHD, but Carolina isn’t the team.
