Not really opposed to either trade, though I think the Leafs are giving up a bit much in both.

If Sharks would take the first trade, it’s a no-brainer for the Leafs. Braun is a big, heavy hitting, shot blocking machine. Defensively sound, his 33 points suggest that he can contribute offense as well, and signed to a very reasonable $3.8M for another two years.

The Manson trade is a good one too. Anaheim is definitely a team Leafs should be targeting to make a trade for defenseman. Loaded in the back end, they lack offense and would love to acquire a player of Nylander’s caliber. Manson is another big, heavy hitting, shot blocking defensively sound player.

Both these trades are good for the Leafs. Fills out our defense nicely, while ensuring we get a return for Gardiner. We significantly improve our back end with both these moves.

Like both trades but have to agree I think it is over payment by the Leafs in both.
