As bad of trade as it was Hall went for Larson. Trouba holds more value then Larson and hall more value then jvr.

Toronto would probably need to add or modify. Maybe something like this

Jvr + marincin or corrado+ brown or lepsic

For trouba and conditional second if brown or lepsic play "x" amount of nhl games if not goes to a third

Like Larson, Trouba is no offensive dynamo; best of 29 pts in 3 seasons and his worst, last season at 21 in 81 games. Not saying he can't improve, just that he may not and that trend already shows. He doesn't have the hockey smarts; at least not yet.

Lou is not nearly so stupid as to pay Trouba like he's the best defenceman in the league (7-8 M he's looking for) when he's only the best current RFA Dman. He may not even be available.

However if Trouba is so good; why isn't he signed already. Why would Winterpeg let him go or trade him if he's just so damm good.

Most GMs are laughing at the Chiarelli brain fart. That trade is one of the worst this decade. Massive stupidity. Overpaid with Hall by miles. Potential 80 pt player every year, for a stay at home D prospect who has achieved nothing yet.

Trouba is 23 this year and has yet to establish himself. He is not currently a No. 1 D. He may never be.

JVR is vet who delivers every year. He is worth a player and a top 10 pick/prospect. Otherwise Leafs don't do the deal, and go elsewhere for a better deal. Lou's not a moron. He's not going to pay Lamborghini prices for a Corvette.

Lastly; you have a cap to manage. Paying Trouba that much money for so little yet delivered would be infantile.

Trouba does not hold a lot of more value than Larsson, Larsson is already inked to a friendly deal and Trouba is unsigned. That's the problem with Trouba at this point. Edmonton made a trade (albeit bad one with Hall going) they got back a D that they know what he will cost for the next few years!

Had Chiarelli made the deal and it was RNH for Larsson, no one would bat an eye, but the issue is that he traded Hall.

Jimmy. The only verbal diarrhea constantly comes from your comments where you just attack the other people here instead of coming up with a valid point or opinion yourself, or actually submit anything at all, unless reminded that you almost never do.

Lou wouldn't do this deal. You don't have to agree with it. But of course you didn't give a reason why, you just spewed your usual vomit like you do all the time.

If Lou was stupid enough to do this deal, he would have been criticized for it. Maybe you haven't read what he does say about trading and the FA signings. But no! I imagine not.

Jimmy, I realize your really hurting after the Hall trade; a player you spouted several times on this site (along with Dysaityl) was "untouchable" and then "poof" now he's traded in the WORST TRADE THIS CENTURY. Poor Jimmy! the pain must be unbearable.

But don't fret Jimmy! Chiarelli will do something even more astonishingly stupid, soon enough, and you'll forget all about it.

Worst trade this century? Close but I can count at least two Leaf trades that were worse. Having said that Trouba and Barrie are way overvalued by some on this site.
