Thoughts? Another dumb idea. Keep Bernier and expose him in the expansion draft. If he is not claimed then they can deal him for whatever they can get.

Berniers a UFA next year so don't include him in the expansion draft talks but the Leafs have to trade him this week to clear cap space for July 1st!

the pending expansion draft both helped and hurt the Leafs to some degree (although it helped more).made Andersen available, but also made Bernier more difficult to trade as better goalies will be made available. if they can't move him they'll just let him walk as a free agent. no big deal. Be nice to dump him for a mid range pick just to get rid of the salary this year, but again, not that big a deal.
