Who cares about the draft really. Maybe you get Mathews and maybe he makes the team next year. Big maybes. Next years team will look a lot like the Marlies do this year, no doubt. Especially with a good playoff run, management won't try to break up the cement of a group of winners. That being said, Babcock loves grinders and guys that do what they're told, so Bozak and Kadri stay put. We will likely never trade our crap for somebody else's crap, so you got to think that whoever is on an expiring contract that can't be moved will play it out then retire for lack of interest. Others will be bought out ASAP. Guys like Michalek, Lupul, Boyea and Robidas. I like Greening, but PA is likely moveable. JVR will get a full season with the new blood to see if he can lead. 1 trade then.

To CBJ -- Bernier, Holland, Laich

To Tor -- Korpisalo, Bourque, Dubinsky.

i wouldn't say bozak is a grinder and why would you buy out michalek when his contract expires next season. Plus his contract helps the leafs not go under the cap.

I'm not specific on all the contract details. I was just lumping him in with the rest. And Bozak is 100% a grinder

Who cares about the draft? The entire tear down that the Leafs went out to do and ultimate goal was to finish as low as possible to get a top talent! Yes, they may or may not get Matthews, but now the Leafs will at the very least pick in the top 4. On top of that, all of their subsequent round picks will be the 1st pick in that round! A great way to go into the offseason.

Bozak will most likely be traded if the Leafs land Matthews and sign Stamkos, just not enough room for him. Kadri is younger, thus has more value.

The only player that will be bought out will be D - J. Cowen, Lupul and Robidas will be kept in the event they are needed on the roster for an expansion draft

If Kadri is younger and has more value does it not make more sense to trade him for a better return and to keep Bozak?

Kadri is young enough to still be part of the rebuild, but Bozak is not. That's why. Yes, the value of Kadri is higher, but only if you do not feel he is part of the solution do you trade him.

I think the real question with Kadri isn't whether he has more value than bozak or whether he's part of the rebuild plans. i'd say yes to both of those It's whether he's peaked as a player and if when the leafs are a good team will he be an integral part of that team. Because his value is high known and if you keep him you have to believe he's part of the future and hopefully much better leafs team. Personally I think he can be much as a hockey player
