Was reading twitter that Dallas could be presuing help on the blue line especially with the recent roster move that Nashville has made.

Toronto: Phaneuf and Parentau 50% retained

Dallas: Hemsky, Lindell and 2016 1st rnd pick and a conditional 3rd (becomes a 2nd if Dallas makes it to the conference finals) in 2016/ 2017.

I doubt the Leafs want to eat 50% of Phaneuf's salary for this yer and the 5 years. How about this:

To Dallas:
Phaneuf
Robidas (put his $3 million on LTIR)

To Toronto:
Hemsky
Nikushkin
1st round pick 2016

Hemsky's $4 million this year and next year removed from Dallas' cap plus Robidas on LTIR for this year and next year equals Phaneuf's $7 million. After those two years, the increase in the salary cap will allow Dallas to fit in Phaneuf's full salary until the end of his contract without any salary relief from the Leafs (and yes I believe Phanuef is worth this package to Dallas who wants to win a Cup soon).

Good idea cliff. I was reading the leafs and dallas where talking last year, leafs tried to get julius Honka. So I would love a deal around that
