IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE THE LEAFS WIN THE LOTTO AND SELECT MATTHEWS AND JULIEN GAUTIER WITH PITTSBURGH 1ST. WE ALL KNOW HOW GOOD MATTHEWS IS BUT I BELIEVE GAUTIER IS GOING TO BE A GREAT POWER FORWARD IN THE NHL.

Why not? What has Jones done so far? No question Jones has a lot of potencial to become a great d man in the nhl but don't base it on the hype he got coming in. Its all about how they are producing at the moment that determines what they can fetch in a trade. If that's the case Gardiner could fetch a kadri type player and more just based on the potential up side he has. KADRI in my eyes is the better player right now. Ya he's been in the nhl longer then Jones but value wise I believe its fair. In the end it helps both teams needs. PREDS need a skilled C that can score and leafs are missing another good D man to play with Rielly.

You make a good point but why would Nashville give up Jones who they drafted a couple of years ago. They see more upside in him than Kadri. I'm not saying kadri is a bad player, I like kadri but especially with Babcock and how he likes kadri's play. I don't see it.

I've been floating the KAdri to Nashville. Some are saying that Nashville will move Ellis but I'm not so sure. Ellis probably does not get what they want. But it would need to be more than Kadri. To get the Leafs back-end shored up for 7,8 yrs. we should look at it.
If we could flip him in a deal that gets us Ekblad even better. To Florida---Jones+x . to Nashville KAdri+X . to Toronto Ekblad. But I'll take Jones for now.
