Pretty wild trade idea vol 7,06
Rielly for Adam Larsson, Winterton, and a 2nd-round pick (or first round?),
Giving Toronto a true top-pair defensive RD and depth two-way help. Rielly would then be replaced in the summer with a big-ticket signing.
I see Winterton as a potential steady 3rd-line smart two-way guy who could hit ~40 points in a good season. Coachable player, still developing, and reportedly very motivated to work on weaknesses.
Oel for Nate Schmidt straight up hey, same cap, age etc but more reliable defensive play from Schmidt.
Domi for Ben Meyers and a 2nd-round pick to add a faceoff/4th-line center.
Brandon Carlo to Dallas for Esa Lindell, upgrading versatility and puck-moving.
Joshua and Lorenz moved for mid-round picks to clean up the roster.
Overall: less offense from the back end, but a much more 2way game and defensively solid group. Then maybe try to trade a physical forward like Brady Tkachuk-type player in the summer to balance it out again.
(X) - Larsson
Lindell - Schmidt
McCabe - Tanev if healthy and Villeneuve.
Depth: Benoit, Phil Myers.
Who is the X?

What reason does SEA have to acquire Reilly and give up Larsson?
What reason does DAL have to give up Lindell, who has a good cap hit over many years, for Carlo, who can walk at the end of the year?

Not to be insulting but this trade is complete gibberish. Ok maybe I am insulting.

Laughable. Reilly would barely get the second. Domi may get a third, not a second and a player.
