Toronto should kick the tires on a Seth Jones trade. Chicago retains $2.5M of his cap hit and we send Knies the other way.

I'd also be okay with moving Rielly, Quillan + 2nd round pick 2026 for Chychrun.

Give Dumba a cheap 1-year / $1M deal so he can split season with Villeneuve next season.
Then in free agency this summer, go out and target a legit top-6 forward and a one more defenseman maby.

Then if Toronto traded Dakota Joshua for Trevor Moore or Connor Brown, I’d be absolutely thrilled.

Won't even go into all the trades. First question is on the first trade. How does the that trade help each team more than it hinders them?
As much as I have slagged Knies a bit this year, if you are trading him, you trade to a team that needs forwards and has a excess of Defensemen. And you get a younger d-man with bigger upside than Jones in return. Florida is not giving up One of their top D-men when they have lots of Forwards.

Their issue this year was injuries not lack of good forwards. They are still thin somewhat on the Defense. Not saying Knies is not a good piece for a d-man you just need to find a bettter fit. Plus you pointed it out. Chicago is on the hook for $2.5 of Jones contract. Why would Florida give up that benefit to take on a larger contract and still be shy of a Defenseman after it the trade is done?

Jones is fine but to make that trade is massively counterproductive and if that happens the Leafs are being set up and purposefully destroyed.

Look at what Tre did with the Carlo trade! This could haunt us for yrs and set us back 10 plus years. I don’t know but let’s not suggest to help these incompetent idiots anymore man pls!

@Henry77 The way he worded it is kind of confusing but yes Chicago sent Jones to Florida and Chicago is retaining $2.5 of that contract. So it actually is in Florida's benefit with their salary issues to keep Jones with that deal.
