TOR: JVR(50%), Carrick, Rychel

NSH: Carrier, Trenin, 1st

The Leafs have to get something for JVR. They would have to eat half his salary here to make a trade possible. The 1st will be a very late one.

The Preds are weak only on the LW (Watson will not suffice). JVR will help for the cup run this year and might just put them over the top.

Trenin and the 1st are the prize here. Carrier has offensive talent but is quite small at 21 years old, and a risk to take for a Dman.

Carrick is an NHL Dman, but will be replaced by one of several Leafs.

Rychel needs a fresh start, yet again.

overpayment from the leafs, and i would want tolvanen instead of trenin and a 2nd first is going to be 27-30 take carrick out.

There is no guarantee that JVR re-signs with the Pred's, and Rychel just isn't that good. Carrick is a 3rd line Dman. So it's not that much the Leafs are giving up.

Carrier is a risk given his size, but highly talented and very fast.

I thought about Tolvanen (medium size), but I don't think the Pred's will part with him, he looks like the best, of the last ten of the 1st round 2017.

Trenin is good size, fast, excellent passer, and will be ready in a couple of years. Could become a 2nd line LW in a couple of years.

no guarantee at all, carrier the 1st would be a good return for JVR without retaining. not a fan of throwing carrick and rychel and the 50% in for Trenin and would want a more substantial player coming back.

The 50% is required for the deal to work. The Leafs have no cap room and the Pred's have a little over 2M. It's required to do the deal.

Rychel is a flop and is thrown in, just to gain back the contract space is worthwhile. He really part of the equation.

Carrick is attractive for the Preds as a RHD backup, as Ellis is injured long term.

Carrier and the 1st is a fair trade for JVR, and Carrick for Trenin is pretty close. The 50% and Rychel are for bookkeeping.
